TIER capitalizes on the existing topography of the former Ujima Village site, which features a gradual incline from East to West. Leveraging these natural contours, the site is organized into three tiers, terraced at 4-foot intervals, with each tier dedicated to corresponding buildings. For instance, an amphitheater is positioned beside the YOLA building to allow young musicians to utilize the amphitheater for rehearsals and concerts. This design facilitates optimized usage of and seamless access between amenities.

Drawing inspiration from the landscape’s curvilinear grading lines, TIER employs serpentine-like geometries and lines throughout the design. This deliberate approach enhances the fluidity and cohesion of the pedestrian circulation experience. Additionally, organic planter shapes along the pathways reflect the site’s natural curves, further enriching the overall aesthetic and fostering a harmonious integration with the surrounding environment.
